Frequently asked questions about the music we play
Our library of over 10,000 "real" music titles includes the best examples of every virtually every type and style of music ever made. We can produce a music show for any occasion to suit any guests taste. Most often, we play a mix of popular slow-dance and party favorites from the 50's through today. At weddings in particular, there's usually a pretty wide age range and some diverse tastes. Generally, we'll begin with well-known standards, jazz, instrumentals, and lite rock, then evolve toward newer, faster party music rounding out the evening. However, every event is different, and some guests enjoy a heavier blend of certain styles of music, while others enjoy a more mass appeal contemporary mix throughout. For school dances and other younger guests, we'll target "newer" music, and cruise-ins/car shows, class reunions, and oldies dances we'll skew with a 50's, 60's, 70's blend. Our staff has the experience to create music shows suited to any group's preference, and we back it with Cincinnati's most impressive music library.
As little-or as-much as you desire. We need to know your guests age range and the mood you'd like to set as a minimum. We'll be sure to plan a variety of music they'll enjoy. Of course your guests will surprise you, so we're constantly "feeling out" the crowd and fine-tuning the music throughout the event. It's also important for us to know your definite Do and Don't song titles. We ask that you consider both your own and your guests' tastes on the "don't" list. Even if you've grown tired of a popular party song, many of your guests might consider it essential to a great time. You can choose all of the music for your event. However, your guests' music tastes may not match your own, and many of your favorite "listen-to" songs may not work well in a "get-up-and-dance" situation. Ideally, you should set a tone and a mood, select your special songs, and allow us to produce an event that appeals to the entire guest list.
Typically 3,000 to 4,000 song titles. Of course your "special
songs" will be on hand. We'll also bring a large collection of music suited to
satisfy a diverse guest list, as well as a wide selection of popularly requested songs.
A typical four-hour event will involve 40 to 60 songs.
YES......if you can dance
to them, if they're popular, and fit the program. It's not uncommon for us to receive
dozens of song requests at a four-hour event. However, we will use discretion to
prevent a music "train wreck" from happening. With many years of music
programming and entertainment experience, we can create the atmosphere you want, using the
type of music you and your guests enjoy the most. That's why we ask to work with you
to design a quality music program.
